Full Time Professional Photographer
My photographic style: I have an imaginative yet natural style. I aim to create beautiful unique and artistic portraits in which the subjects natural character and charm shine through.
My greatest strengths: I think my creativity id one of my greatest strengths. It extends not just to the photography and image editing but also to prop and concept creation to keep my work unique. In addition my patience and ability to relate well with babies, children and adults alike.
I have been in photography: Professionally just a few years although I spent over 10 years as a photographic printer, image editor, retoucher and photo restoration artist and have enjoyed Photography as a passionate hobby since I was a teenager and learnt how to process and develop black and white film in the darkroom
How I got started in photography: My Dad is an amazing landscape photographer and so I guess its in the blood. He first taught me how to take photographs and process film and develop prints late at night in his makeshift home darkroom
My photographic skills: In addition to being a skilled and experienced photographer with a full understanding of all the processes involved. I am a highly experienced image editor having worked many years in photographic labs and as a freelance retoucher and photo restoration artist and as a Mother my knowledge and experience with children and babies allows me to really push the boundaries of child and baby photography whilst maintaining a relaxed and flexible 'no stress' approach.
Geographic areas I cover: My studio is in Islington, London and I mostly work from there however in he warmer months I also offer outdoor portrait sessions in locations across London
Venues I frequently attend: I love working in my studio but I also love working outdoors and also in beautiful or derelict settings. Its amazing what works well on camera and I love unusual and quirky settings.
I found inspiration from: I have always been fascinated by beautiful imagery and my style is inspired by the storybook pictures that stuck with me from childhood. I am also inspired by the work of many other photographers, artists and illustrators. As I have worked for many years developing, retouching and restoring such a wide variety of different images its hard to pin point exactly who or what inspires me. As well as imagery the love a Mother has for her child inspires me to try and capture that feeling within my images.
Success in photography: In the last year I have scored 2 Gold awards in the baby category, 2 highly commended in the baby category, and 1 highly commended in the wildlife category. I will soon be going for my Licentiate qualification.
Photographic training: A Level Photography
My interests outside photography: Photography and images are my main passion other than my children. if I get to spend the rest of my life doing photography That would be amazing. I also love cooking and experimenting in the kitchen.

Why I like the SWPP: I haven't taken full advantage of all the SWPP offers but intend to do so. I like being a part of something where I can gain advice and expertise, have my work critiqued and enter competitions to see how I am doing and to continually strive to improve.
Future plans: I hope to continue developing my art and my business and am not yet firm on my future plans other than to continue doing what I love.
