I'm Simon, a wedding photographer based in Portsmouth, Hampshire, specialising in relaxed, natural photography for couples who aren't particularly comfortable in front of a camera.
After almost 20 years of photographing weddings, I've learned that great wedding photography isn't about making people pose perfectly or turning the day into a photoshoot. It's about creating an environment where couples can relax, be themselves and enjoy their wedding while I quietly capture what happens.
My approach is calm, unobtrusive and lightly guided. I'll give you enough direction to help you feel comfortable when you need it, while leaving plenty of space for the genuine moments to happen naturally.
I'm particularly passionate about working with camera-shy couples - the people who tell me they're “not photogenic”, hate having their photo taken, or worry they'll feel awkward all day. You don't need to know what to do in front of the camera. That's my job.
Based in Portsmouth, I photograph weddings across Hampshire and the surrounding counties, from relaxed hotel weddings to country houses, golf clubs and everything in between.
