Scott Johnson FSWPP, Grand Master of The Societies, is an internationally recognised, award-winning photographer based in Essex, UK.
Known for his fun, energetic approach and storytelling eye, Scott has photographed weddings across the world and is widely respected as a judge, educator, and mentor within the photographic industry.
He has judged for SWPP, WPPI, and numerous international competitions, including serving as the only British judge at the World Photographic Cup in 2020, 2021, and 2023.
Scott holds two Fellowships with the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers (SWPP) in Wedding and Documentary Photography. His 2017 documentary Fellowship, captured entirely on film at the Auschwitz concentration camp in Poland, received international acclaim for its sensitivity, depth, and historical importance.
His competition achievements include winning the Open & Natural World category at the 2019 SWPP 20x16 print competition and finishing runner-up in the Wedding Classical category, having previously won the category in 2016.
At WPPI in Las Vegas, Scott was the only British photographer to win in 2019, taking first place in the Wedding Contemporary category with a Gold Distinction. In 2022, he further cemented his international standing by achieving three Golds and one Gold Distinction at the WPPI Annual 20x16 competition.
His SWPP honours continued in 2021 when he was named Architectural Photographer of the Year, followed by winning the Wedding Day category at the SWPP 20x16 competition in 2023.
In 2025, Scott completed the rare international career ''Grand Slam'' by winning the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) International Photographic Competition Diamond Award, becoming the first photographer outside the United States to achieve this distinction. He was also made 'Grand Master' from The Societies and 'Master' at the ICON awards.
