Type business: Full Time Professional Photographer
My photographic style: Candid, documentary style
My greatest strengths: I am very much a people person and love photographing people of all ages from my sessions with beautiful newborn babies to photographing someone's Golden Wedding Anniversary!
I have been in photography: 20 years
How I got started in photography: I studied photography in the late 90's for two years (using film back then!) and photographed my first wedding in 2001. Due to circumstances I was part-time and semi-pro for years but went fully self-employed when I moved back to Wales in 2015.
My photographic skills: I am very good with with people and able to make them feel relaxed and more confident in front of the camera. I pride myself on my Customer Service abilities.
My personality: Fun and gregarious but very professional.
Geographic areas I cover: South and Mid Wales, Bristol & South Glos.
Venues I frequently attend: I have a real passion for older buildings as I love character, architecture and quirky details. I have a real interest in Castles (I was born in Caerphilly near the beautiful Caerphilly Castle!)
I found inspiration from: I get quite exited to photograph somewhere I've not photographed before ... I really love to explore a new venue and find brilliant spots to photograph my couples.
Success in photography: short-listed in Nov 2017 for Entrepreneur of the Year plus Creative and Digital Business of the Year by Caerphilly Business Forum. Have entered the Welsh National Wedding Awards for the first time this year so waiting to hear!
Photographic training: Two years at Strode College in Street, Somerset studying Photography.
My interests outside photography: I worked in Further Education for 12 years and I'm a qualified tutor. I have taught IT and Photography.
Major events: Having my two beautiful daughters who are now both grown up and married. My youngest daughter is also a professional photographer in Powys and we occasionally work together if one of our couples wants two photographers present on their wedding day.
Testimonials: Loads on Google and my Facebook Business page: Tania Miller Photography.
Why I like the SWPP: The recognition it gives to genuine professionals.
Tagline: The Ninja Photographer! (one of my brides called me this in a review she left as she said I was like a Ninja having captured fab photos when she didn't even see me or realise I was there!)
Future plans: To continue improving and serving my clients to the very best of my ability. We never stop learning and there are things I am very keen to learn more about (like Photoshop!) as I predominantly use Adobe Lighroom for all my editing (although I do have PS).
