My name is Martin Webb. I was born in Hastings in East Sussex where I am still based.
As a sports and events photographer, I travel widely photographing KARTING, SUPERMOTO, MINIMOTO, RALLYCROSS, DRIFTING, A1GP, DTM, TRUCKS, LMS, MASCARS, F2, WORLD TOURING CARS, MOTORXCROSS, BTCC, and enjoy motor sport of all types.
I have covered fashion show and awards nights with a onsite printing available
I work hard on getting great photographs - many of my pictures have been published in magazines such as Karting, Southern Karting and Digital Photographer. Since 2007 I have been the official photographer for Lydd International Raceway in Kent and in 2009 have also started to cover Lydden Hill near Dover, adding to my portfolio. During 2010 I covered new events in motocross and sprint races and hope in the future to cover these.
My love of photography initially came from my father as he was into black and white photography and had a home darkroom. My love of motor sports comes from my wife Angie, an obsessive sports fan.
In august 2007 I became the official photographer for the South East Stars Cheerleading Team covering all their events throughout the year. I am always on the lookout for new challenges and this year covered bands night leading to a CD cover, I am available for hire for music and sports events throughout the year. My photographic style: describe your photography that a hard one, I use what I'm given to work with and make work for me I love the use of shadows and moment to enhance my images.
My greatest strengths: the use of movement and shadows
I have been in photograph: I been a photographer about 5 years
How I got started in photography: like most I bought a DSLR and have not look back but stumbling on to a go-kart track while out shooting was the first step to my photography life
My photographic skills: being able to keep a cool head and the ability to see the shot when it not that clear to see, photographing fast moving objects such as motorsport etc
My personality: Out going, chatty and hard working all ways smiling and happy
Geographic areas I cover: south coast of the UK
Venues I frequently attend: well I like racetracks, but can work in most places
I found inspiration from: my father a keen photographer
Success in photography: not entered any competitions as yet
Photographic training: well I have a ncfe level 1.2 and I'm working towards an A level at the moment
My interests outside photography: kite surfing, motor sport, music, bass guitar
