Weekly Forum Photographic Competitions This Weeks Forum Competitions are now open:
Week 32 - Castles/Ruins/National Trust houses
All the winners for the weekly competition will
go through to a final vote for the favourite image of the year and the
winner will receive a prize and be awarded, at the Annual Awards Night, the
accolade of "Members Choice Wedding/General Photographer of the Year". --
We all know it can be a little daunting to post on a busy Forum for the
first time, so we have created a special section where you can just say
‘hello’. The many members who already frequent the Forum will make you feel
very welcome and when you feel confident at ‘joining in’ then please do so. https://thesocieties.net/forum/ for more information. |

![]() Photographers often spend tens of thousands of dollars on the latest lights, light modifiers, and lighting gadgets. As Bill hurter shows in this book, however, they may be headed down a costly road to nowhere. Instead of complexity, he suggests, photographers should seek simplicity. This creates a look more "true" to portrait viewers and has come to be preferred over the more contrived looks that were popular in previous decades. Packed with incredible images from top photographers, this book is a critical resource for professional photographers (and aspiring professionals who want to create more natural portraits and get fewer headaches doing so. Trevor and Faye Yerbury - Speakers’ Corner
We don’t believe there’s ever been a speaker
line-up quite like this before at any photo convention - anywhere. The business was established in 1864. I was established a little after that but nevertheless I confess to have been a pro here for more than forty years now. I’ve had several one man exhibitions over the years and we’ve been fortunate enough to win numerous awards. In addition there have been many TV and radio appearances and I was lucky enough to be presented to The Queen - before I photographed her. |
