Pete Bristo MBE photographer in East Yorkshire Type business: Full Time Professional My photographic style: Multi Award Winning Wedding Photographer with a creative approach to the modern traditional wedding. My greatest strengths: I'm fully trained photographer to the old standard of City & Guilds in General Photography. I have specialised in Weddings and Portraiture. I have Highly a Fellowship with the SWPP, BIPP and MPA, Plus I am one of a select few to have 2 different Fellowships one in Press & PR and the Other in Weddings. I have been in photography: I have been a photographer for over 25 years. How I got started in photography: I took up photography in the services back in 1981 and gained my City & Guilds qualifications through them in 1985 to become a full time Army Photographer for 17 years. I retired from the Army 6 years ago after serving 24 years to start up Bristo Photography. My personality: Out going personality and easy to get on with. Geographic areas I cover: I have covered weddings from Cornwall to Inverness and will do weddings all over the UK, Plus have covered several abroad from the freezing Ice hotels in Canada to the Heat of the Caribbean. Venues I frequently attend: I like to cover weddings with great architecture such as castles. of modern building Success in photography: In the 6 Years from starting up I have won over 150 awards some of the more memorable ones are UK Classical Wedding Photographer of the year 2007 UK Creative Wedding Photographer of the Year in 2008, Yorkshire Region Classical Wedding Photographer in 206/7/8 with the MPA and With The BIPP plus many more. Photographic training: Last year I took time out from the competitions an Judged the BIPP National Photographic competitions plus several Regional Competitions. I Teach the Foundation in Wedding Photography with the BIPP plus mentor for them. My interests outside photography: Going out for meals, Golfing with handicap of 17 Major events: Major events in photography, being honoured by HRH the Queen with an MBE for my photographic Work in Bosnia in 93. Achieving my Fellowship in Press & PR in 2003 and even Harder Achieving Fellowship in Weddings in 2008. Why I like the SWPP: I the SWPP is a great forum for new photographer starting out. It has a Great Web forum where you can find out anything in the photographic business. It has a great search engine, which will get stronger as it expands.
