Type business: Full Time Professional Photographer My photographic style: Refined Simplicity, modern retro with a quirky style! My greatest strengths: Am a people person. Enjoy collaborating with others which brings out the best in me. Have produced corporate video but have also worked with preschool children, a great combination for a children's photographer. I have been in photography: Full time for the last twelve months but have taking images with my SLR for the last three years. How I got started in photography: Whilst I was working on a corporate video, a colleague asked me to help out her friend who was getting married but had no budget for a photographer and I so enjoyed it that my passion was kindled again. Word of mouth has got me more work. My photographic skills: Natural style, storytelling abilities, try to capture the special moments on the wedding day without setting up shots so blending in with party. Can put children at ease and enjoy post production where my real skill lies in defining a style and sometimes creating black and whites that are timeless. My personality: Unassuming, personable, professional, fun, generous, creative, natural. Geographic areas I cover: The North West Region including North Wales, South Yorkshire and Cheshire, Lancashire and Merseyside. Venues I frequently attend: Outdoor settings is where I thrive, using natural light. I found inspiration from: Many things, editorial style of portraits inspire my work. Success in photography: Since doing my degree in media and communications where I learnt darkroom techniques, I am yet to get credit for my photography as I have concentrated on video, radio and public relations work. I hope that this will change once I develop my niche. Photographic training: BA in Media and Communications at City University Birmingham, 1993. Digital Video editing course at Wirral TV, Autumn 2009. My interests outside photography: Beekeeping, walking on the beach near where I live. Spending time with friends and family. Major events: Have graduated from high school when I was a gap year student and studied at Forsyth County High School in Georgia, USA. Have since attended my 20 year high school class reunion. Why I like the SWPP: The ongoing professional support through the newsletter and always get so much from reading the Professional Imagemaker magazine. Tagline: Refined simplicity Future plans: To define my brand in the high end market of wedding and portrait photography.
