Sue Gilmore photographer in Essex Full Time Professional Photographer My photographic style: A calm, professional approach to all her work produces photographs that show that Sue Gilmore's clients are relaxed in her company. For weddings, the style is informal reportage photography, which can be combined with more classical, formal poses - a winning combination that has made Sue the choice of so many brides and grooms. My greatest strengths: Sue has a passion for photography and an intense desire to please her customer. Her confidence and experience enables her to overcome any I strive for excellence and have an eye for detail, without being over fussy. I have been in photography: Sue had been a keen photographer for many years prior to becoming a professional ten years ago - and loved every minute! How I got started in photography: Sue's seeing eye was discovered by an eminent artist when she was assisting him whilst working for a publication. He suggested she considered devoting more time to photography and, following achieving a Licentiate with the RPS within a short space of time, was offered a position with a leading professional studio. My photographic skills: Aside from skills as a professional photographer, Sue works to reflect the emotion of the wedding day and relationships between the couple and their guests. All her commissioned work is entirely customer focused; their story is unique and the images will become part of their family history. It is this same desire to create emotional images that thrills Sue's portraiture clients. My personality: Sue's confident, friendly and approachable personality - not forgetting a dry sense of humour! - Enables her to deal with all aspects of photographing a wedding. Geographic areas I cover: Mostly SE England, but would travel to fulfil an interesting wedding or assignment Venues I frequently attend: Country houses with sumptuous gardens and venues with history that can be used to illustrate and enhance the emotion of the occasion - these are her favoured venues, which go hand in hand with her love of landscape and garden photography. I found inspiration from: Inspiration for Sue's style of photography comes from her customers - getting to know them, their lifestyles, personalities, relationships. The landscape; nature; the old masters and other photographers are all sources of inspiration and fuel Sue's pursuit of excellence. Success in photography: Within a short time of achieving Licentiate qualification, Sue won a Canon Gold Award and completed a commission from Hasselblad Cameras to provide a photograph for one of their world-wide advertising campaigns, . In a recent competition was awarded a SWPP/BPPA Gold Award for portraiture. Photographic training: Sue Gilmore's photographic training has been thorough and progressive, starting with tutorials with a leading portrait photographer, Hugh Bourn ABIPP, and going on to work with multi-award winning photographer Mike Gilmore, a student with the world renowned photographer Eric Lawe FBIPP. My interests outside photography: Sue's other interests include running with her dogs, gardening and cycling, at which she competed at national level. Major events: One of the major events in her life was marrying Mike Gilmore. He advertised for a wedding photographer, Sue applied and was successful. She liked the company so much, she married him!
