I have been in photography: Less than 4 years professionally, but photography has been my main interest / hobby / passion for over 46 years
How I got started in photography: My grandfather bought a Kodak Brownie camera just 2 months before I was born, to take photographs of me. He gave that camera to me for my birthday when I was 7 years old, and I haven't stopped taking photographs since then.
My photographic skills: Knowledge of physics determining lighting and photography, applying this to taking photographs in adverse conditions
My personality: Stubborn, pedantic, persistent, talkative
Geographic areas I cover: The United Arab Emirates (Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Abu Dhabi, Al Ain) and Oman
Venues I frequently attend: Motor racing circuits, beaches, mountains, skyscrapers
I found inspiration from: Many other photographers, especially those that take a similar style of photograph or in a similar location (including Hardeev Singh for hotel interior and exterior photography)
Success in photography: Numerous awards in photographic societies and national newspapers over the years
Photographic training: Mostly self-taught, but worked for 5 years as an ENG (ELectronic News Gathering) Cameraman and Lighting Engineer for a major international television broadcaster, and I was also employed as a Broadcast Engineer from 1978 until 2011 in the television and film industries, working very closely with and alongside DOPs, cameramen, photographers, advertising agencies, graphic artists and designers.
My interests outside photography: Motor sport, classic cars, listening to music, water-skiing, snow-skiing, jet-skiing, wind surfing
Major events: Married .... divorced .... about to get married again. Lived and worked in England, Hong Kong, Germany and now Dubai. Travelled all over the world on business and on holiday.
