Hi, I'm David 👋, a photographer based in Andover, Hampshire, England, available for photography services across the surrounding areas.
I am a full-time professional photographer based in the United Arab Emirates, specialising in interiors, sporting events, landscapes, travel and portrait photography. With a passion for photography spanning more than 46 years, I bring a lifetime of experience, technical knowledge and curiosity to every image I create.
My journey with photography began when my grandfather bought a Kodak Brownie camera shortly before I was born to photograph me as a baby. He later gave that camera to me for my seventh birthday, and I have been taking photographs ever since.
Although I have been working professionally as a photographer for less than four years, photography has always been a central part of my life and has developed from a lifelong passion into my chosen career.
My background in television and film has provided a strong foundation in lighting, composition and visual storytelling. I spent five years working as an ENG cameraman and lighting engineer for a major international broadcaster, followed by a long career as a Broadcast Engineer working closely with directors of photography, camera operators, photographers, advertising agencies and creative teams.
This experience has given me a deep understanding of the physics behind light and photography, allowing me to create compelling images even in challenging conditions.
I cover locations throughout the United Arab Emirates, including Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, as well as Oman.
My photography regularly takes me to diverse environments, from motor racing circuits and dramatic mountain landscapes to beaches and iconic skyscrapers.
My photography has received numerous awards through photographic societies and national newspapers, recognising my commitment to creating high-quality and engaging imagery.
I am inspired by photographers who share a passion for strong composition, challenging environments and distinctive locations. I particularly admire work in areas such as hotel interior and exterior photography, where attention to detail and lighting are essential.
My personality is persistent, curious and detail-focused. I enjoy finding the best possible image and will continue working until I achieve the result I am looking for.
