 We don't have a photo of William Pitcher yet DevonWilliam Franz PitcherWIliam Pitcher Photography Ottery St Mary Devon England Specialist Photographer for :- Nature, Wildlife, Macro photography is a venture and side of photography that I have been following for the past 50 years. With the updated photographic equipment use today, the access to different vantage points has increased exponentially. The standard of the optics has increased, the sharpness of images and from this I have found that my initial focus on the subject must be more precise. With Macro imagery this is even more acute when you zone of focus is measured in fractions of a millimetre as apposed to meters in landscape. I have now learnt to plan, program, and then when on site in the rural landscape to look before I take that image, see what is around you first, then look again as you will have missed that small item on the first viewing. Using all your senses to hear, feel, smell, and to potentially taste the air for that hint of the difference. This is what I now try to produce in the images I shoot and to have viewer see and enjoy that captured moment in time, and bring that same feeling to them as it did to myself. Buildings Architecture Photography from this genre I try to build in the images the feelings and atmosphere I find in those locations. From the images I taken the aspects of geometrical sightlines such as the lines it displays, the shape it produces, the pattern that is developed, and the end colour production within the image, all of which produce that atmospheric moment in time. People This genre is both exhilarating and difficult for me, I love the challenge of portraiture, the diffraction and changing styles of fashion, I love the ability to show the form of that beautiful person to the best of both their and my ability, Then take that beauty and bring out the exhilaration of that different angle, or view, to show an even better view stance of that person. In the main I want to promote the person and show the real personality and not just a simple image which in reality is just like a reflection in a mirror. I want to take that person and bring out their inner most special attributes. My personal development started with the Open University 10-week special course in Photography This was followed by the Higher National Certificate Course in Photography from the The British Academy of Photography. This lite the spark inside me to prove to myself that I can and will produce images that firstly I have planned, secondly organised, thirdly took that image and fourthly present that image to people who only know me through my photography. I have from this and all the course I have completed, developed and honed my skill in planning, processing and production. From this I have further developed my interest in all things Nature, Flora, and not to forget any Insect or ground dwelling life, I always remember that life is so precious and you only ever have the one chance to develop it. This has developed into a passion for Macro and close up photography. But still keeping Landscape, Architectural, Wildlife and to a small degree people in my envelope of styles and genres. The HNC course has opened my passion to further develop my ability to produce and develop myself as that photographer who will one day have that front cover image on The National Geographic Magazine.
