My photographic style: My main interest has always been in natural history photography. Until the last few years most of my work could be described as record photography. But I'm now putting the emphasis on producing more artistic images to show the beauty of nature.
I have been in photography: On and off for 50years.
How I got started in photography: My brother had an interest in photography when I was about 15 years old and I then started taking my own pictures and developing and printing in his darkroom.
My photographic skills: Natural History Photography, especially macro work with Fungi.
My personality: I'm a quiet person, getting on with most people. I like nothing more then roaming the countryside with a camera.
Geographic areas I cover: I stick fairly locally to the south of the UK, with the odd trip farther afield.
I found inspiration from: John Shaw and George McCarthy.
Photographic training: No formal photographic training.
My interests outside photography: Computing and natural history
Why I like the SWPP: The forum and the monthly competition.
Future plans: Enjoy and improve my photography.
And finally: I have been retired now for three years. When working I was a senior manager with a large American electronics company.
