Type business: Full Time Professional Photographer My photographic style: Portrait and wedding photographer, a mixture of both informal and formal settings, i.e. home, environmental and studio portraiture. Can also take commercial photography. My greatest strengths: Patience with customers both on locations or weddings and also when choosing prints etc. Artistic. Ability to understand light. Able to compose and have a varied dimension of shots both in the studio and informal settings. I have been in photography: 37 years How I got started in photography: Apprentice at a local photographers, eventually working for them for twenty four years, essentially becoming the main photographer in my latter years there. My photographic skills: Ability to judge light and distance of portraiture and artistic composure. Patience. My personality: Quiet and unassuming but able to control wedding portraiture. Calm and placid, very even tempered. Geographic areas I cover: South and mid Lincolnshire, although can cover North Lincolnshire, Newark, North Norfolk and countrywide if required. Venues I frequently attend: Portraiture - Beach, woodlands and a varied country outdoor environment. Weddings - formal church weddings, informal civic weddings in hotels etc. I found inspiration from: The ability to create an image that my customers can smile over instantly and create wonderful memories. Michael Frost of York was a great inspiration to me, likewise Rocky Gunn (American) but latterly Kevin Wilson. Success in photography: Never entered any of my work, although I was a licensed member of the MPA. Photographic training: Apprenticeship with a renowned local company initially. Latterley by going to seminars, conferences and trade shows. My interests outside photography: Badminton, cycling, walking and spending time with my family. Major events: Getting married and having two children!
