Arthur A Lloyd photographer in Isle of Anglesey North Wales Type business: Full Time Professional My photographic style: I suppose I would describe my style as "laid back" whereby putting the customer at their ease is key, whether it may be a nervous bride, or groom for that matter, (men suffer with nerves too) or a toddler coming into the studio for his/her first portrait sitting. My greatest strengths: I consider myself patient, great with children, well mannered as anyone of my era would be, anything less I would consider a weakness not a strength. I have been in photography: 21 glorious years. How I got started in photography: Started as a hobby in 1987 after leaving my newsagents career due to the streamlining of the company. My photographic skills: I love photographing people, whether at weddings or in portraiture situations. My personality: I like to think I am an easy going person, helpful, and really good with children having 12 grandchildren and a great - grandchild of my own. Geographic areas I cover: All of the Isle of Anglesey, and parts of Gwynedd. Venues I frequently attend: Anywhere with fantastic views, where people and landscape can become one with nature as the saying goes. I found inspiration from: My wife and family, especially the grandchildren who are all up and coming models in their own right each with their own individual personalities. Success in photography: Apart from holding a licentiate within the SWPP & BPPA, I was fortunate enough to win the "Daily Post" wedding photographer of the year voted for by their readers. Photographic training: Mainly self taught, with help from a couple of friends who are really enthusiastic amateurs. My interests outside photography: Photography is the main part of my life, with working at it full time, and when I am lucky enough to get some time off I like to spend it in the mountains shooting the beautiful scenery we have here in North Wales. Major events: Opening my first studio in Holyhead with the backing of Anglesey Aluminium who kindly gave me my first contract to start me off in a full time self employed business in 1990 right through to their closure in 2009 to whom I will be forever grateful. Testimonials: I have received many thank you cards and notelets from customers over the years including letters of praise from the Mayor of Holyhead for photographic services to the community Why I like the SWPP: The help and advice which is always to hand for members old and new, cheap insurance and a magazine that is second to none. Tagline: I love a challenge, when someone comes along and says "have you ever done such a thing"? And I reply "no, but, bring it on and we'll give it a go", what an adrenalin rush to break new ground. Future plans: To carry on providing a good service hopefully for another 21 years.
