Tell us a little about your background, your first camera and phoographic experience and your subsequent emergence as a pro.
My first memorable, life affirming moment with my camera was in South Africa when I was travelling/volunteering. There was a young girl carrying a heavy sack on her head from one village to the next, high up in the hills. I stopped the truck, jumped out and asked her if I could take her portrait. She was apprehensive but allowed me to take her portrait. When I looked the back of camera the power of that single portrait changed my life forever. I knew I wanted to be photographer from that moment on.
I love lifestyle, I love people, I love travelling to new places
Film or digital? Is there still a place for silver halide?
All my knowledge and experience as a professional photographer comes from the digital era. However I am totally and utterly love with film. I got married this Summer and my wedding photographer shot some of the key shots on film. Film is authentic, romantic and beautiful.
I'm a Nikon girl through and through.
