Who today is leading the way in creative social photography and why?
Honestly? I don’t know. I’m really only attracted to pure photojournalistic type images so ''creative'' doesn’t really come into it I guess. I love the work that York Place Studios are putting out. They have an unrivalled vision.
If you could pick just FIVE seminars (other than your own of course!) to attend at The Societies of Photographers Convention whose workshops would you attend?
Sanjay Jogia
Christina Lauder
Jeff Ascough
Domenic Aqualina
(I can’t see the list right now so I’m using these from past speakers).
What do you think will be the next big thing in the industry?
I think we are starting to see a resurgence of printed products. More and more people are printing, even from their iPhone and I think printing is back.
Would you want your own children to take up the reins of your empire (or have they)?
Yes, I’d love them to. My daughter has already inherited my XE30 camera and my little boy takes a mean landscape shot on his old mans X100 from the type of Weston Pier.
Your plans for the next five years?
More of the same. I’m happy shooting weddings and my mentoring and workshop business is growing. I intend to release some Lightroom Actions that I’ve been working on for a long time soon too.
There are 24 days to get ready for The Society of Photographers Convention and Trade Show at The Novotel London West, Hammersmith ...
which starts on Wednesday 15th January 2025
