How do organisations such as The Societies of Photographers help?
Some organisations are a total waste of time with large membership fees and very little in return. It is pure and simply Photographers Heaven. Whether you are just thinking of becoming a photographer, a hobbyist, camera club member, semi pro or pro there really is something at the convention for everyone.
Is it primarily about the chance to learn from the experiences of imaging icons?
Yes I think it is, but also being able to watch the 20 x16 judging and meeting up with photographers from all over the world.
Your own mentors (living or dead)?
