Sanjay Jogia

Shooting a mix of stylised portraits and documentary photography, Sanjay Jogia's wedding photography wouldn't look out of place on the pages of a fashion magazine. Sanjay works alongside his wife Roshni which he believes is an advantage when it comes to shooting weddings: 'My wife is also my best friend and Roshni completely understands me both on and off a shoot! Having a woman as part of the team goes a long way to making people feel relaxed and can encourage guests to behave naturally in front of the camera.'

Sanjay grew up with photography with his father working for Kodak, making film. 'Kodak were very a family-oriented company and often organised events for the children of their employees - the influence was there from the start!' It wasn't long before an inquisitive Sanjay 'borrowed' his Dad's Canon AE-1 and having both film and developing readily available meant that he started experimenting and developing his own style. 'I've always enjoyed immortalising moments and emotions; combined with making light work for me I think these things have really defined my photography.'
