In Chester, Jain Briscoe-Price runs a portrait and wedding business and an art gallery.
She told Imagemaker: "When I saw just how big digital was going to be, I traded in my medium-format film cameras (with much help from local photographer Mike Williams and the SWPP) and learnt Photoshop skills - which, in turn, led me into using the Epson 7600 inkjet system. Now with Greenbox we can print what we want on whatever medium and style - with tweaks made as production of each job continues.
I have printed my own banners for wedding shows and our art gallery has held an outdoor Art Trail for eight months - with 38 images on outdoor vinyl and canvas - all retaining their colour and quality through all weathers. These were produced at little cost and gained a huge amount of publicity and business."
She added: "I always use Fuji printing media. The Satin 270 gives great colour saturation and durability whilst mounting to board, foam-board, etc. The canvas is both workable when stretching onto frames (all done in-house) - and has produced very pleasing tones. The bottom line with Greenbox is it allows me to take back complete control of my output workflow, enabling me to direct promotions more accurately than ever before."
But would these photographers recommend Greenbox to their contemporaries?
"Absolutely," Susan said. "The system operates perfectly with both our PC and Mac systems. The user screen is easy to navigate and enables bespoke manipulation and sizing of images without the use of Photoshop cropping. This is a great timesaver and means we don't have to worry about sizing anywhere else."
Wayne was similarly enthusiastic. "I would highly recommend it," he said. "And the predominant reason is the complete control it gives you. And thanks to the comprehensive training, I really know what I'm doing with the system. It's just so easy now."
