I wanted to know what inspired Andy with his photography, other than discovering new techniques. 'I enjoy doing something different. That is a massive inspiration to me, always trying to be different. I try not to look directly at what other photographers are doing, because that can cloud your judgement by almost forcing you to not do the things that they have done!' Giving each couple images that feel different to everyone else's is also something that Andy aspires to do. 'Because we have such a massive online presence, every couple can see every wedding that we shoot. With that in mind we don't want any wedding to be a carbon copy of another - it's not just another day in the office for us, we like to be different on every job.'

While Andy takes photographs on the couple's big day with Laura as his assistant, when they get back to the studio it's Laura who takes charge.

'I edit all of the images and design the albums for our clients - Andy taught me everything he knew when I started working full time in the business and I've been learning ever since!' Laura designs all of the albums that leave Deans Street from scratch - there isn't a template in sight in their studio and they believe that it is one of the services that means customers will choose them for their wedding day. 'Clients love the fact that I design each album by hand because it means that they can have anything that they want and that their album isn't going to look anything like anybody else's. It's a completely unique album that's special to them. It really helps us stand out from the competition.'

Aside from designing the albums and wrangling shots in Photoshop, Laura also oversees much of the front-of-house side of the business, as well as the administration. 'When the customer walks in I'm usually the first person that they meet. I also go along and assist on the wedding days because it's good for the couple to have continuity throughout their whole experience with us.' Both Laura and Andy pride themselves on their customer service - and if the coffee they serve tastes as good as the shots of it look on the 'wedding' pages of their website then I'd be a very happy customer indeed!
