Editorial - October-November 2009 - part 2 of 1 2

Computer repair shops have joined the ranks of cowboy plumbers and mechanics. We still have a specially inventive breed of scally round our way, though. Their best trick was to convince an old lady that her chimney stack needed pointing 'because it was a danger to passers by'. After they had finished (and the old dear had raided her piggy bank to pay the exorbitant 'builder's' fee) the son-in-law became suspicious and got on the roof to take a look at the pristine new brickwork. No wonder it looked good, they had papered the stack with a brick pattern vinyl!

If you need cheering up after all this gloom, read David Creedon's piece in the magazine, it will uplift even the most depressed spirit.
