Gold Cotton Smooth and Gold Cotton Textured
This pair of papers are nearly identical twins, differing only in surface texture and performing in an almost identical manner during audit. 'Smooth' is a flat, matt finish, 'Textured' is typical of a 'mould-made' surface, lightly (and pleasantly) textured in a random pattern like a watercolour media. Both papers are 340gsm, both cotton rag and neither has even a hint of OBAs (the fluorescence registered as a minus!). Both are on the creamy side of neutral.

For matt art papers they delivered quite good statistics, around 3.3 ΔEoo average. The bulk of the component errors were in the chroma although most of the patches were also between 1 and 2% too light. As would be expected, the HiGAM patch sets suffered most, especially in chroma, with losses around 3ΔC/w (weighted chroma). Both papers delivered good shadow detail retention right down to 15 RGB points. Highlight detail was held right up to 252RGB points so both papers have very good range in this regard. The Granger charts were smooth over most of the gamut with just a little banding creeping in to the very dark green areas.
