Sports photographers have an additional challenge...just ask some of the sports photographers who covered the Olympics in London, England. They are given slots in media areas to work from. They are given what they are given and may have to make the best of it, along with many other photographers.

The story I present to you has one stand-alone image and this is supplemented with the rest to tell the story. Like the wildlife photographer whose opportunity, preparation and serendipity come into play, I had a rare opportunity to witness and photograph a lung biopsy procedure. I was expected to be removed from the operating theatre; the surgeon invited me to stay - but with strict instructions.
