All the images in this article (with the exception of me on the trike) were taken with the V1 using the 10-30mm zoom lens and were taken in varying lighting conditions to show the versatility of this small, but very powerful camera. The V1 is unobtrusive and helped me blend in (I looked like a tourist!) which can be helpful in those circumstances when looking like a pro is a positive disadvantage.
You can play dumb when you know they want to charge you more just for having a big lens! This was the case in Antelope Canyon. Another advantage was it's light to carry and you don't need Popeye muscles to carry it around all day. The camera comes with its own array of optional extras.
The flash unit is rather cute, it doesn't have an internal battery but instead takes its power from the camera's onboard lithium unit. I also purchased the external microphone for enhanced sound quality when videoing. What they don't tell you is you also need a £30 adapter to fit it onto the unique hot shoe adapter. Having got all that sorted out, the camera has performed admirably and I can see it accompanying me almost everywhere I go, so there's no excuse for me missing that 'right place, right time' shot.
