It also claims the world's swiftest recycling times, being able to fire up to 30 flashes per second at lower power settings - so how fast you can shoot now depends only on your camera. The battery itself can fully recharge in less than 45 minutes, according to its manufacturer, and can even be recharging when in use if it has been connected to a mains supply.
Finally, Profoto also offers up its latest generation Pro Plus flash heads, described as the smallest head with a comparable light output on the market. These heads are also claimed to be robust, lightweight and compatible with all Profoto's light-shaping tools.
There are several types of Pro heads available. There is the standard ProHead, the ProTwin Head, the Pro-B Head for battery generators and the ring flashes ProRing and ProRing 2. Most Pro heads have now been updated to better complement the latest and greatest Profoto products.

So new that it is not actually out at the time we're writing this, but is due early 2013, is the Broncolour Move 1200 L battery pack for those social photographers looking to shoot on location. Described as a 'lightweight athlete', as its naming suggests the pack provides 1,200 joules of power from a unit weighing 6kg which is no larger than a camera bag. An outdoor trolley backpack and weatherproofed power pack soft case are included in the delivery. There are two lamp connections and the pack also provides flash times down to 1⁄20,000 of a second, with a controllable range of 9 f-stops.
The Move is protected when on the, um, 'move' by eight protective bumpers. The front panel features an LED display and is described as selfexplanatory, and Broncolour suggests the pack is good for long periods of use and up to 4,000 recharging cycles. For those looking to shoot video as well as stills, the 1200 L's continuous lighting mode in combination with the MobiLED lamp, with its daylight conform 5,500K colour temperature, opens up new possibilities too - with the ability to provide continuous light for up to two hours of filming. Dimensions excluding handle are 21x17x23cm.
A second option Broncolour flags up for any readers wanting a competitively priced solution when compared to competing packs is the Senso. This is described as the easiest and most affordable entry point into the Broncolour system and is pitched at photographers who are often on the road. There are 1,200 or 2,400 joules packs available, depending on requirements. The Senso A2 1200 J offers a flash duration of up to 1⁄5,000 of a second, a recharging time of between 0.4 and 1.5 seconds and a control range of 6.5 f-stops in 1⁄10 f-stop increments. The Senso A4 2400 J offers a flash duration up to 1⁄2,750 of a second and a recharging time of 0.4-2.8 seconds. It offers the same control range as the A2 pack.
