Colour Testing
The standout feature of the colour audit was the media-to-media consistency. As might be expected from such similar base colour parameters, the average errors are tightly bunched (around 3.3ΔEoo). Rag Photographique edged the data with a best score of 2.91ΔEoo and also had the highest Dmax, again by a (very) short head.

Rag Photographique also had slightly less shadow differentiation which could be due to the choice of media setting. As a series the media were good on this parameter, differentiating down to 20 RGB points - Rag Photographique stalled on 25 points. Highlight differentiation was good all the way up to 251 RGB points throughout.

The metamerism made for interesting data and completely reverses our usual findings - the ABW monochrome had lower CII values than the 'colour profile prints.' We do not have an explanation for this.

Monochrome Testing
All the prints were made using the ABW driver using the 'Dark' setting. All were about 4% too light so if nailing the 50% patch at 50% is your objective, a tone setting of 'Darker' would be in order. Bear in mind though that as the maximum density only reaches around 18% so the 50% patch should be slightly light to make a smooth progression from white to black. With only 80 points between base white (98%) and maximum density (18%), the mid-tone value might be better at closer to 60% Lab brightness. As always a little experimentation to find a setting you like is very much in order.
