One light, One lens, 100 - part 3 of 1 2 3 4 5

My preferred locations were old buildings, fields, streams, barns and woodland - all with challenging levels of light that could be manipulated with reflectors and gobos.

Importantly, I had areas that I was able to utilise in the event of bad weather.

Extremely popular with my clients were the cornfields, which fortunately are in abundance in Dorset - autumnal portraits with the fading leaves and colours were a great opportunity to sell as Christmas presents.

This kind of work was and still is very appealing to my clients, who preferred what we now call ‘lifestyle’ - I’m not quite sure where that terminology came from!

Many photographers at that time, saw it as an inconvenience and were unwilling to step outside the comfort of their studios; therefore it was a ready-made niche market that I was more than willing to accommodate.
