The User Guide

The user guide for painter was a PDF which was made without font embedding. The nag box reported that Humanist 521 BT was missing (which it wasn't!) and the guide was thus rather a typographic mess because of incorrect kerning. The file was a massive fail when pre-flighted in Acrobat - we are entitled to expect better.

Overall then Painter remains a favourite of the reviewer even if it remains a little mysterious. If you need help to start or advance, there are a lot of books available. A check on Amazon brought 34 up and although some of them are not up to date in terms of version, they still contain solid material which crosses all the versions. We pulled in two from Amazon but have included others, reviewed some time ago on the following page.
