20. How many 'creative' images do you makein a year?
I am busier now than I have ever been. I would say atpresent I am producing two per day, five days a weekfor customers, but I also fit in images which I do just tosatisfy my own creative ideas, many of these I use incompetitions and editorials.

21. Do you work on series of images or panelsof images or are they solo?
Most times solo, one-off pieces.

22. Tell us about your chosen image, why it was made, how manyelements/images, how long to prepare, what did you try andthen reject, how many layers did you employ?
I thought long and hard about which image to choose when you said a possible'Hero' image. And I decided on 'The Complexity of Bubbles'. To me heroes are mainlyday-to-day folk who manage to keep their heads above water in the ever-complexsociety that we live in. People with a story to tell - people who are fabulous in theirown way without nobody really knowing about them. This is Bob ... he came tomy studio, and we hit it off immediately, an interesting man with many stories totell, bubbly, a joker ... a fun spirit who immediately filled my day with joy just bymeeting ... what an amazing super power that is eh? I photographed him dressedas a clown, and throughout the shoot he made me laugh. On reflection, when Igot home that evening, I thought about my first impression of Bob as he walkedthrough the door ... he had quite a sad face, and just looked like a wrinkly old man.He had kind eyes and I could sense a warm heart. He had made a comment duringthe shoot that even though he had a serious face - inside he was a jolly character,a happy man who liked to have a joke. I thought about what a lovely thing thatwas ... a juxtaposition to the majority of my subjects who often say they aresmiling on the outside but unhappy within. With that in mind I decided my creativeportrait should show the world through this image the real person within Bob, thefun playful person on the inside with so many stories to tell, not just the seriousface you see outwardly. For this image I only worked on 10 layers - must be a record for me!
