Light Blue Software

We all feel like we could do with the help of an assistant or secretary at times - but a more affordable route is to avail yourself of Light Blue - business software for photographers that acts as a way of keeping on top of your bookings and on top of your business. Some users have even gone so far as to say that after a camera, Light Blue is the most important element of their business.

Now in version 5, the team behind the software has cleverly developed a way of letting you work offline - so you can easily access your information even when you don't have an internet connection - then sync your data between computers when you go online.

No more cursing a poor internet connection.

Plus there are iPad and iPhone apps, too.

The latest version of Light Blue features over 300 tweaks and improvements over its version 4 predecessor, including not just organisational but also marketing features.

Among them is a new In Box that lets you import email from Mail (Mac) or Outlook (Windows) and, for people subscribed to the online services, lets you hook up web contact forms to your Light Blue account, to speed up getting your information into Light Blue. The new version also claims to help you better manage your time, thanks to being able to book consultations and viewing sessions more quickly, pencil in alternative dates for sessions, and record your time off, when you manage to take it!. Users can also now tag contacts in order to match leads to the type of shoots they might possibly be interested in, or keep track of promotions that they currently have running. You can also now group clients together - which is pitched as being ideal for family photographers - it's easier to both communicate with clients but also market directly to them.

Pricing for the software itself is £295 + VAT, whilst Light Blue's online services start at £7.50 + VAT, per month. Support is free (via support@ lightbluesoftware.com) and is carried out via email.

Direct your browser to the URL below for the full list of improvements made in version 5 and to find out how the innovative and powerful software might be of help - commencing with a free, yet fully functional, 30-day trial. It is also worth noting that Light Blue was voted 'Best Professional Product of the Year' for 2012 by members of the SWPP.
