Commentary on the papers and their colour audits
For this we have quoted the website description first (in italics) and then added our own comments of the 'standout' features that we measured.
Pinnacle Lustre 300gsm
Premium Heavyweight lustre/pearl photo paper with brilliant white surface. The best value high-quality photo paper of this type on the market, our best seller for professional photographers.
A very bright and cool media with a subtle lustre finish. A good all-rounder with a deserved sales record. It carries a high Dmax and low metamerism in common with the sibling Gloss and Satin offerings. The cool base lifts the average error just above the average of all papers and drags all the colours down towards blue, decreasing saturation in the yellows, oranges, reds and yellow greens. This is typical for this type of paper. Popular with professional photographers it would nevertheless benefit a portrait if the skin tone vibrance setting was boosted in Photoshop to reduce the desaturating effect of the cooling.
Pinnacle Gloss 270gsm
Premium-quality glossy photographic ink-jet paper 270gsm. Also available in panoramic sizes. The remarks about this paper are the same as those for Lustre 300.
Pinnacle Satin 270gsm
Premium-quality semigloss/satin photographic ink-jet paper. Classic smooth non reflective satin finish.
The remarks about this paper are the same as those for Lustre 300. The finish is just a bit finer than that of the Lustre 300 and the fluorescence is a couple of points lower.
