Artificial light film

SWPP Photographic Glossary

A type of colour photographic film specifically designed to produce accurate colour reproduction under artificial lighting conditions, such as tungsten or studio lights. This film compensates for the warmer or cooler tones of artificial light sources, reducing colour casts and ensuring that skin tones, fabrics, and other subjects appear natural. Artificial light film is commonly used in indoor photography, studio shoots, theatre, and any setting where daylight-balanced film would produce incorrect colour rendering.
