B (Bulb) setting

SWPP Photographic Glossary

A camera mode, indicated by the ‘B' icon on the shutter dial, that keeps the shutter open for as long as the shutter release is held down. This allows photographers to capture long exposures beyond the camera's standard timed settings, making it ideal for night scenes, fireworks, star trails, light painting, and other creative low-light photography. The Bulb mode gives full control over exposure duration, enabling dramatic effects and motion capture in low-light conditions.
