Bag bellows

SWPP Photographic Glossary

A type of short, flexible, bag-shaped bellows used on large-format cameras, typically in place of standard bellows when short focal length lenses are employed. The flexible design allows for unrestricted camera movements, such as tilts, shifts, and swings, without the risk of vignetting or mechanical obstruction. Bag bellows are especially useful in architectural, product, and studio photography, where precise perspective control and lens flexibility are required for composing the image accurately.
