Photomicrography

SWPP Photographic Glossary

Photomicrography is the technique of taking photographs through a microscope using a camera attachment. This method allows extremely small subjects, such as cells, microorganisms, or fine structures, to be captured in high detail and recorded for study or presentation.

Widely used in biology, medicine, and materials science, photomicrography combines the precision of microscopy with photographic documentation. It enables scientists, researchers, and educators to analyse microscopic details, create accurate visual records, and share findings through images that reveal structures invisible to the naked eye.
