SVGA, or Super Video Graphics Array, is a display and imaging standard that provides a resolution of 800x600 pixels (sometimes noted as 780x480 in specific devices). It was introduced as an improvement over the earlier VGA standard, offering sharper and more detailed images for monitors, digital cameras, and video output.
In photography and digital imaging, SVGA resolution affects how images are displayed and recorded, influencing clarity, detail, and overall image quality. While modern devices often support much higher resolutions, understanding SVGA is useful when working with older hardware or when optimising images for devices with limited display capabilities.
