Tiling

SWPP Photographic Glossary

Tiling is a photographic and printing technique used to reproduce a large image by breaking it into smaller sections, or tiles. Each tile is printed separately, and when assembled, they recreate the original image at full scale.

This method is commonly used for creating large posters, murals, or detailed prints that exceed the size limits of a single sheet of paper or printer. Tiling allows photographers and designers to maintain image quality and detail while producing oversized visuals for display or exhibition purposes.
