"I never take anything for granted. As far as I'm concerned my next big challenge is my next assignment or photograph that I am going to create. One of my mentors told me as a photojournalist, "Today's front page picture is tomorrow's fish wrap." As a photojournalist I learned very quickly that each assignment reflects the fact that I am perceived to be only as good as my last picture."

Giving something back

Appreciating the help that so many others have given to him over the years, Rick is determined to share his knowledge and love of his art with as many other people as possible, and this wish to give something back encouraged him to sign up to become a member of The Societies and is the reason why he's so enthusiastic about the workshop he's planning to give next January.
