"One of the things I have decided to tackle is what I call 'Paying it forward,'" he says. "I was fortunate to have people help me and in turn I have been touring all over the USA and Europe sharing my knowledge in workshops. It's challenging and also keeps me up to date in terms of equipment and problems that arise that I need to figure out the solution to. I always want the participants in my classes to enjoy themselves, to laugh and be creative.
"My idea of relaxation is to go out and create images. One of the new things I've been experimenting with in terms of photography is long exposures and infrared. I find it soothing and relaxing as well as very different from what I do for my regular work. Creating images this way takes time to study my environment and compose photographs that are innately different from news photography.
